After 16 years of dedicated service, our trusted Parks Manager, Barry Cochran, has announced his retirement. Barry has been a pillar of our community since 2010. He helped keep our beautiful parks, trails and lakes in pristine condition. Beyond his hard work, Barry was a warm, welcoming presence who always had time for a friendly chat with neighbours. His passion for Church Ranches made our neighbourhood a truly special place to live. 

Thank you, Barry, for your outstanding service and we wish you the absolute best in your retirement. We will miss seeing you around the trails!

The volleyball net is up for the season. Enjoy a game or two over the May long weekend!

The next Rocky View County Council Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Now that the ice has melted, the aerators are operating to provide circulation in Alexa Lake, Cody Lake and Cheyanne Lake. The waterfall and creek also are running as part of our interconnected lake system.

As of April 22, 2026, the water is flowing from the waterfall down the creek to Cheyanne Lake. A sure sign of spring!

On September 16, 2025, Rocky View County Council adopted the new Municipal Development Plan (MDP.) This is the County's most important planning document, guiding development on lands located outside of area structure plans. While Church Ranches is covered by the Bearspaw Area Structure Plan, the MDP can affect living in Church Ranches by governing what happens in the surrounding areas. As of September 30, 2025, the MDP replaces the County Plan. You can find information on the MDP here.
