Thank you to community members who are taking the initiative to modify their spiked fences and gates. Spikes present a hazard to our wildlife. A news article reported an incident in Watermark in October where a juvenile moose was impaled and killed on a fence spike. Similar events have happened in the past in  Church Ranches.

If you currently have a spiked gate or fence, please consider retrofitting it as others are doing to protect our wildlife - and prevent seeing a gruesome sight.

As a reminder that the CRHA Board will NOT approve a new gate or fence with spikes.

Cables are in the ground and aerators are in the water for Lake 2 (Cody Lake) and Lake 3 (Cheyanne Lake). Enmax will be completing the hook-up in the next few days. The aerators will be running in all three lakes until November. Thank you for your patience during the installation process.

Beginning around the first week of August, work will continue on the aeration project for both Lake 2 (Cody Lake) and Lake 3 (Cheyanne Lake). The pathway behind the garage connecting Lakes 2 and 3 will be closed while machinery is present and trenches are open. Thank you for your understanding.

In response to residents' concerns, the CRHA has purchased new easel-style signage for various entry points to the Church Ranches common lands. The CRHA Board hopes that these signs will inform and deter non-residents from using the private paths, lakes and beaches unless accompanied by a Church Ranches member or family member. Security patrols have increased. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation if you are approached by a security patrol. Should residents have concerns about trespassing, large groups, property damage or have late-night noise complaints related to use of the common lands, please contact the non-emergency Cochrane RCMP phone number: 403-851-8000.

Enmax has begun work to extend power to the maintenance garage off of Church Ranches Close. Cables will go to Cheyanne Lake and Cody Lake to facilitate aerators in the lakes. There will be construction on the common lands while this work is being completed. Thank you for your patience!

You may have noticed that the Parks Committee has been hard at work getting the Church Ranches landscaped entrances and cul-de-sac islands cleaned up and refreshed. In April, Prairie Woodlands Tree Care pruned and took away deadwood. Recently the beds have been weeded and have some new plantings and cedar bark mulch. The CRHA has invested in a water tank to help the new plantings thrive. Lovely - just in time for summer!

The CRHA Membership Committee has updated guidelines for homeowners who wish to make improvements to their properties that are covered by the Restrictive Covenants. Please look at the Restrictive Covenants and the Homeowner Guidelines for Projects Under the Restrictive Covenants and apply to the Board for any relevant development projects that you may be planning for this summer or fall including fencing, decks, patios, pools, gates and outbuildings. Some projects will require permits from Rocky View County and proof of those permits to the CRHA Board. A reminder that removal of trees and shrubs outside the 3/4 acre development envelope is prohibited under the Restrictive Covenants. Limits also are placed on changing a lot's elevation, removing earthen material and rocks and changing surface drainage. Thank you for your cooperation.
