As of June 2, 2026, Rocky View County is advising residents to use caution around rivers, creeks and streams due to the recent rainfall and elevated water levels. The Bow River water flows are expected to increase with forecast rain and snowmelt. Residents are asked to:
- Stay away from fast-flowing rivers, creeks and streams;
- Keep off riverbanks which may be unstable and can erode without warning;
- Keep children and pets well back from all waterways;
- Avoid recreational use of rivers and creeks until conditions improve;
- Respect closures;
- Check properties to ensure culverts, drainage paths, eavestroughs and downspouts are clear and directing water away from buildings;
- Call 911 in an emergency.
For the latest updates and advisories, residents are encouraged to monitor official weather forecasts and follow Rocky View County's website, social media channels, Alberta Emergency Alert and sign up for SAFE & SOUND notifications.
